This is my new desktop image.
This remarkable image of the space shuttle orbiter Atlantis docked with the International Space Station (ISS) was taken at a range of 190 nautical miles. Astronomers at Clay Center Observatory, near Boston, Massachusetts, planet Earth, used a satellite tracking system and 25-inch diameter telescope in combination with a digital video camera.

The record high temperature for today was 99 degrees.
Bat guano and tomato food applied to the garden, tree trimming, light weeding, 1st and 2nd wave of ladybugs deployed, beans planted in Battlements and in zucchini/cucumber patch. 100 degree record high.

Inhale
He sat under the shade tree in silence. Silence. His inhale. His exhale. Heartbeats.
Then noise. Louder. His senses were heightened. He could pick out the cacophony, the din. Earth. Turning. Cosmic. The world became clearer to him. He heard the buzz of insects, of bees flying from flower to flower. It was an odd traverse, nature痴 dance. Dead leaves fell from the trees. They crash softly to the ground. A thunder.
There is traffic on the streets beyond. He heard the bus. Squeaking breaks. Coughing.
A breeze rushed through the area. The plants push towards the sun. They sing when they grow. A plane overhead. A squirrel eats a peach from the tree. He scurries. He痴 eating the peaches. Vague hope City Fox gets him. Hazy hope that squirrel gets eaten dead.
The chair creaks. A barking dog. Two dogs. So many dogs. Engine 16 rolls from the station, sirens blaring. Barking. Howling. Mosquitoes. Sunset. Breeze. Heartbeats. Inhale.

The order for 200 mission patches has been placed. We are ahead of the game this year. We ordered the STS-666 patches in August of last year.

With the reception the mission patch, I have a mission. (last year's mission)
You Garden Minions who receive the patch in the snail mail are given a quest, a challenge. You need to take a picture of you with the patch. You should be loving, abusing, eating, rubbing or participating in mayhem with the patch. Or anything. Be creative! Let the patch spark your creativity in a most pure and satisfying way.

nicotiana rustica, Mapacho
Here is the 2nd generation nicotiana rustica, the Hopi native tobacco that I planted from the seeds of last year's plants. Yes, Mapucho, Shamanic Tobacco. I'm a modern Shaman. It's for smoke and ceremony.
Native Americans have always used Sacred Tobacco for prayers and giving thanks. Prayers are carried to the Creator in the smoke of Sacred Tobacco. Modern society has corrupted the sacred purpose of Tobacco.
Always offer Tobacco to the winged one who donates their feathers to you, and you. And you.

The Police concert was great. I traveled via the Light Rail downtown to Brauns and had a nice dinner and beer before meeting up with my sister and some nice people from New Mexico. The Pepsi Center was rocking. I have video. It was a pleasant journey.

STS-117 and the bird called Atlantis
I have 創et. I have 創et.
I have been without landline telephone and internet at my home going almost on 3 weeks. It痴 back now. I am glad. Do you remember me?
Space Shuttle Atlantis launched this evening.
It was a spectacular launch as usual. As with each launch, one of the greatest of human achievements and adventure, I get nervous. As I watched the bird take flight, a gleam arose I in my eye. Up, up into the heavens she flew, Atlantis, on a construction journey to the International Space Station Alpha. I cannot wait for EVA. Those spacewalks am exciting.
